Tas No Limao / Albir Rojas & Anjuli Kizomba Dance @ CSSF Festival 2017
In this class Albir Rojas and Anjuli were teaching tarraxa modern style in this super nice song Tas No Limao! Check it out!
What I really liked about his approach was how soft it was. There is no crazy leading with hands, but instead just breathing – soft movements with your body.
Feels like you are calmly flowing in the universe and hugging. It’s so smooth and soft.. It’s amazing – just check the dance and you’ll see what I mean!
Albir Rojas to me is nr.1 kizomba instructor – he’s not only amazing dancer, but his classes are always fun and valuable.
Plus he knows how to explain things in simple way.
In this festival I somehow noticed how much Albir is focusing on teaching basics in the musical way.
He’s definitely onto something.
While cool moves are flashy and attractive, 99% of the people cannot dance like it. To do complicated moves takes a lot of practice.
I am more and more attracted to idea of teachers teaching basics and showing how to create variations of it. Or take one cool move of 8 steps and give 3-4 ways to mix in music.
That’s an idea, huh?
Albir did that in his classes and I became better dancer because of it.
Sidenote: I keep noticing how the best dancers are also DJ’s or have produced music. They are involved in music creation.
For example Albir created this kizomba remix himself. Laurent is also DJ hidden by nickname DJ LOW. Ronie Saleh also is djing on his local town events.
While being a great DJ doesnt mean you will be great dancer, it definitely helps with understanding music and dancing in musical way.
Yep, I am also on the way to learn Logic Pro and create some songs…and maybe DJing eventually.
It’s the path of a great dancer I believe.
Don’t aim to be the best DJ (unless you want to of course), but knowing basics of music production and DJing will definitely help.
13th Croatian Summer Salsa Festival 2017 (CSSF) – http://www.crosalsafestival.com/
As people say there are festivals and then there is Rovinj. And I agree, you cannot compare this festival with anything else.
CSSF was Week 2 of the festival, it all started with Summer Sensual days where it was mostly bachata, kizomba – and on salsa festival as the name suggests – it was mostly about salsa.
But Albir to me saved CSSF with his intensive workshops, we got 10 workshops with him and I’ve recorded 7 amazing demos with Albir & Anjuli ? So keep eye out for more!

Next year there will be THREE weeks instead of two. Crazy people 🙂
